How to apply

1. Complete and submit an online application. Apply now.
   
   
If you would like a paper application, please e-mail

2. Submit the following supplementary materials:
   
   
   • Student Program Commitment Form (also included in online application)
   • Two Letters of Reference (also included in online application)
   • $50 deposit - if applying for a scholarship (refunded at end of program) -or-
   • $450 deposit if NOT applying for a scholarship ($50 refunded at end of program/$400 applied to program fees)
     (Note: Deposits will be fully refunded if not accepted in program.)
   • Student Interview Check Form (also included in online application)
   
   
3. Call Global Visionaries at 206.322.9448 to schedule an interview

If Applying for Scholarship

If you are applying for a scholarship, you also need to submit:

• Financial Aid Request Form (also included in online application)
• Most current IRS tax form (1040 or other)

In addition to your regular interview, you need to schedule a financial interview at Global Visionaries. (Note: it is recommended that you schedule your two interviews on the same day.)

The application, letters of reference, deposit, and financial aid request are all due on Monday, October 19th.

Online Application Instructions

The application takes about two hours to complete. We ask that you complete the application in one sitting, so please plan to spend two hours working on it.

You can prepare for the application by having the following information available beforehand:

• All relevant contact information for applicant, applicant's teacher(s) and counselor, and applicant's parents/guardians.


• Applicant's medical history.


• Essay responses. The three essay questions are:
  1. There are many youth leadership/travel programs to choose from; why do you want to participate in a Global Visionaries program?
  2. What do you hope to learn? What personal challenges will you face? Please be as specific as you can.
  3. What strengths will you contribute to your trip group to help make it an excellent group experience?


• Family financial information.
