Ecological Footprint

GV students commit to looking at and reducing their ecological footprint on the planet. An ecological footprint is the area of the Earth's productive surface (land and sea) necessary to support a given human lifestyle according to Facing the Future. Facing the Future develops young people's capacity and commitment to create thriving, sustainable, and peaceful local and global communities.

Students assess their ecological footprint at the beginning of the program and select areas they make commitments to reduce their impact on the Earth's natural resources. In the process, students look at their consumption habits and lifestyles choices.
