The Global Visionaries LIT Coordinator supports and mentors the high school student Youth Board Coordinator in directing the Youth Board (YB).

The YB consists of 20-30 graduates of our first year Leadership Program who co-teach and co-facilitate the first year students. In addition, YB is responsible for helping operate all aspects of the organization from office assistance to strategic planning. The LIT Coordinator will lead the Leaders in Training Program and assist with the other YB activities which include: weekly “train-the-trainer” trainings, monthly meetings, fundraising, and the first year leadership program events.

This position requires a commitment of 12-15 hours a month through June 2012 (a 6 month internship is will be considered for the right candidate).  All Global Visionaries interns will be expected to participate in procuring donations for our annual auction and asked to make an internship recruiting presentation at the end of their service term. This is an unpaid position, but the schedule is flexible. 

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with high school students
• Experience managing and organizing events, campaigns, or projects
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Passion and interest for service in our local community
• Some experience with grassroots fundraising recommended
