Programs

Global Visionaries' programs offers high school students, young adults, and adults leadership training, a cultural immersion trip to Guatemala, and local and international service projects focused on social justice and environmental conservation. GV participants learn how to become leaders in their local and the global community.

Seattle Leadership Program & Guatemala Trip
The Leadership Training Program educates and trains students in cross-cultural understanding, fundraising, and social action. This is a year-long program and includes leadership training, cultural immersion trip to Guatemala, and local and international service projects focused on social and environmental justice.

Other Programs:

San Francisco and Colorado Leadership Program. The Leadership Training Program educates and trains students in cross-cultural understanding, fundraising, and social action. This is a year-long program and includes leadership training, cultural immersion trip to Guatemala, and local and international service projects focused on social and environmental justice.

Long Term Volunteer Program. This two-year program is for students who wish to broaden their involvement with the GV community, both in Seattle and Guatemala. Students spend their senior year learning about GV from the inside, participating in development, and planning projects for the upcoming year in Guatemala. They spend the second year in Guatemala, in a variety of roles, assisting with the programs for first-year participants.

Global Leadership Class. Global Leadership is an innovative approach to high school social studies that focuses on social and environmental justice through service learning and hands-on leadership skill building. Students are introduced to global issues and are challenged to take action by making changes in their own lives, and in their communities, homes, and schools.

Adult Trip to Guatemala. The purpose of this trip is twofold. First, it is a personal journey: to engage in a meaningful way with Guatemalans through work, community building, friendship and exploration. The second is to become a partner in creating opportunities for at-risk, low-income students to experience the same journey, and to receive global education and leadership training.
